New Reaper Miniatures

We got a major shipment of Reaper Miniatures in last week. It included both a restock of some of the older minis that we have not seen for a while and some new ones.

The new miniatures are looking sharper and sharper. The new figures include several angels, a well-armored Blackguard, a beautiful 1/2 Elf Wizardess and an Ogre Boss with club and shield that I'd really hate to meet in a dark alley. (Or anywhere else for that matter!)

Other items on the order included more Runebound decks, a restock of the new Axis & Allies War at Sea miniatures game, and new Federation Commander boosters.

Spring Magic Tournaments

Congratulations to Paul Frazee, who won our last Magic Tournament on March 17, and to Alex Hulley, who came in second. Paul had a fantastic day, sweeping all four rounds.
Congratulations!

Our next Magic Tournament will be April 7. This one is a sealed format, with each player getting a deck and three boosters for the $20 entry fee. As usual we are asking players to be here between noon and 12:30 to sign up.

Lately we have been having two Magic tournaments a month on the first and third Saturdays of the month. The first Saturday is our usual sealed format, but the third Saturday varies, sometimes sealed, sometimes constructed. We are always looking for new ideas for that third weekend.

Yes, we're still here!

We got a phone call the other day from a person who had located our site on the Internet, but since the site showed no sign of recent updating, he wanted to make sure we were still here. Yes, I said, we are still here.

And then I thought, how many others are wondering this? And so I am back here, typing once more. The Dragon is alive and well, we are still having tournaments, and are still the best place to come for fantasy gaming.

I will make some effort to do more frequent updating.

New Stuff in March

We did some major restocking in March. We got Reaper Miniatures in, both new items and a major restock of some pieces we haven't seen for a while.

We also got major dice restocks, both from Koplow and Chessex. The new Gemini dice are very sharp, and you should see the Koplow Big dice we got in. Random months of the year, anyone? Or 24-sided dice? To say nothing of the restock of the 30-siders.

Spring Magic

Our next Magic Tourney is Saturday, April 15, beginning at noon. It will be a booster draft with three boosters of Ravnica and three boosters of Guildpact, and it will cost $17 dollars. As usual, you will get your new deck to take home.

Congratulations to our last two winners, Paul Richard and Mike Pray. These are new faces in our tournament crowd, and we hope to be seeing more of them. But if you see them, watch out! They're good!

February Game Day

Darrell will be here Saturday, February 11, between noon and 6 pm to demo games at our February Game Day. Join us for a day of fun, trying out some of the new games.

Last time the Game Day featured Three Dragon Ante, Tsuro, and Munchkin. These and more will be available, either to play, or if you don't have that much time, just to look at to see what some of those boxes contain.

January Magic -- February Magic

Congratulations to Mike Stormer who came in first in the January Magic Tournament, beating Nate Hully, who came in second. Mike had an extraordinary day, winning all three games in each of four rounds!

He will be ready for our next Magic Tournament on February 18, which will feature a Ravnica deck and three of the new Guildpact boosters. The tournament will cost $17 and we are asking people to be here at noon to sign up.

Guildpact releases February 3, as Fat Packs, boosters and theme decks. It is an expansion for Ravnica, and presents three new guilds, the Izzet League, the Gruul Clans, and the Orzhov Syndicate.

Preferred Customers and our Game of the Month

Each month we choose a special game to feature as Game of the Month. The current one is Three-Dragon Ante. A Preferred Customer who buys our Game of the Month gets an extra stamp on his Dragon Card.

If you are not yet a Red Dragon Preferred Customer, come in and ask how you can become one. Preferred Customers get a Dragon Card, they get on our Mailing List, and they are entered in our monthly drawings.

January Game Day

Our next Game Day will be Saturday, January 14, from noon until 6 p.m. Darrell will be here again with his game collection plus we will have some of the store's games.

We got to play not only Three-Dragon Ante and Ogre Bash last time, but also Tsuro, the Game of the Path, and Midevil, the latest in the Zombies line of games. We're hoping to be able to play one of the new Fluxx games this time, as well as give new people a chance to play Three-Dragon Ante, our Game of the Month.
